H.E. Shariar G. Rahimi

H.E. Shariar G. Rahimi

Ambassador H.E. Shariar G. Rahimi, Chief of Administrative & Protocol Affairs,IIMSAM has been involved in UN circles for over 20 years in various capacities. Amb. Rahimi started his career in United Nations related work as an intern with the Governing council of UNDP in Geneva Switzerland in 1983 that led to his appointment as an assistant to Chief of Information with newly established UNOEOA office (United Nations Office for Emergency Operations in Africa) which dealt with Africa's famine-related issues in 17 countries. In 1987-89 Mr. Rahimi continued his career with the Permanent Mission of Bahrain to the UN as an adviser to the Deputy Ambassador.

Amb. Rahimi contributed towards voluntary work with Non Governmental Organizations affiliated with United Nations that included his role as a treasurer for Committee for UN Habitat in New York. He is a graduate of Hunter College [CUNY] where he did his BA in Political Science.
