H.E. Manish Uprety
H.E. Ambassador Manish Uprety, was born in a small and scenic hill station Almora in India. He is an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, India and the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, United Kingdom.
Having gained professional experience by working for various established corporations both Indian and Multinationals, he moved to London to pursue academics at the University of London. During his association with the One World Trust, Houses of Parliament, United Kingdom, he was responsible to cover contemporary developments and important issues of International Peace & Security; and International Development for the organisation.
He also gained journalistic experience with the BBC World Service in London. H.E. Amb. Uprety is a polyglot and a prolific writer on international developmental issues who has spoken from various established platforms such as the Banque de France on vital issues such as the global food security.
He is quite interested to explore the role sport can play in enriching Human Capital in the developing and the least developed countries in the context of globalization.
He was conferred with "2006 Global Human Rights Protection Award" by the Indian Institute of Human Rights at the 8th World Human Rights Congress held in New Delhi, India on the World Human Rights Day on the 10th of December 2006.
