Free Spirulina Dosage Campaign

• Location: IIMSAM Spirulina Farms, Dasuya, Punjab, India
• Incharge: Kanwaljit Sandal Foundation & IIMSAM

Located in Dasuya, India, The IIMSAM Spirulina Farms have state of the art Spirulina Cultivation Systems wherein IIMSAM Certified Spirulina is produced and distributed globally. The Kanwaljit Sandal Foundation (KSF), an NGO has spearheaded a one of its kind “Free Spirulina Dosage Campaign” in Dasuya, which has been classified as an economically backward area in the region. At the designated site, the following activities are being currently pursued:

• KSF & IIMSAM are working closely with Rotary, Dasuya to distribute Spirulina in the region especially in the remote villages.
• KSF & IIMSAM have jointly pledged resources to provide 10,000 free dosages of Spirulina to local people per day, especially to children and elderly people, on regular basis, in order to bring a collateral improvement in their health. It is planned that the free dosage initiative shall gradually be launched all across the Hoshiarpur District in the next phase.
• KSF & IIMSAM have also roped in the local health care centres, health workers, volunteers, leading doctors and prominent personalities of the region in order to expand the reach of the “Free Spirulina Dosage Campaign”.

What are the nutritional elements present in Spirulina?

Spirulina is rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids. It contains every natural known antioxidant including zinc, manganese, selenium and copper, vitamin E, B complex etc. It is an essential fatty acid that helps lower blood cholesterol and high blood pressure and eases conditions such as premenstrual pain, eczema like skin conditions.
